Dearborn Construction Gallery

In  2005, our own Head of School, Alison Hramiec (then a Science teacher) won an $2000 Unsung Hero award/grant to transform the overgrown patch of land in the back of the school into a working garden. The team of Janet Platt (Math teacher) and Hramiec have taken the back lot and, with the help of hundreds of BDEA staff work hours over the years, turned it into a piece of paradise…and on October 16, 2015  the process of paving it over to create a parking lot began.

The project is the first phase of the demolition of the Dearborn and construction of a new STEM school, located on Winthrop Street behind BDEA. The city needs access for their construction vehicles and staging operations, and we expect to have scores of workers and vehcicles as our neighbors for the next 2-3 years.
