BDEA student leaders work with their advisor to examine bias and stereotypes, then meet with and share their perceptions with student leaders from Hudson High School in western Massachusetts. Together, these students who have grown up in very different circumstances from each other, learn that they are not so different after all.
Teacher and advisor to the student leadership team, Connie Borab, has been awarded by the National Civic Association for her work in the area of helping students to build authentic voice, to question stereotypes, and to support healthy communities for living and learning.
Read about the experience from the students themselves. BDEA and Hudson students write reflections at the end of their visits and document the seismic changes that influence the rest of their lives.
