College and Career Readiness

Career Readiness is the new "look" that we are giving to our enrichment curriculum which helps students learn the kinds of practical skills they will need regardless of whether they decide to attend college, enter a training program, or go directly to work after graduation.

A series of planning courses begin as soon as a student starts at BDEA, and continue throughout their career as part of their individual learning plan and Roadmap to graduation. Coursework is designed to guide students as they explore opportunities for their future, acquiring and practicing important Habits of Success, networking, and engaging in hands-on professional experiences.

Students continue to build their skills in Career Readiness, a course designed to teach professional expectations such as taking initiative, time management, professional communication and other skills important in the workplace.

Finally, all BDEA students graduate with a Career Experience—an opportunity to practice and demonstrate their HABITS OF SUCCESS in a professional setting, grow their professional network and gain valuable employment experience.
